Saint Luke’s East-Lee’s Summit is embarking on a $68 million expansion to its hospital and campus to include 182,000 square feet of new construction and 58 new hospital beds (with shell space for 52 more). The expansion will add a fifth floor, a new building for patient care services, additional parking structures, and expanded Emergency Department and operating room capacity.

McCown Gordon Construction has been awarded the Surgery Center Expansion project and will be working with Trio Masonry for the masonry work. The expansion of the Surgery Department in Building F adds 16 beds.

Masonry work - 70,000 modular brick units as well as cast stone. Work is expected to start immediately with masonry starting in January and finishing in April 2012.

Whiteman Air Force Base (AFB) currently has 837 active family housing units with an additional 84 in construction for a total instate of 890 units. Since 2000 WAFB family housing has either been new construction or total renovation to include garages. Trio Masonry just completed 210 of these unit with Walsh Construction and the Corp of Engineers. Good job to everyone that worked on this 2 year, $1.8M, project. A job well.

cmh sm logoTurner Construction, along with Trio Masonry, will be constructing the new Children’s Mercy East. With 55,000 square feet, will offer pediatric subspecialty outpatient clinics; The Edward G. and Kathryn E. Mader Urgent Care Center for after-hours urgent care needs; radiology and laboratory services. When it opens, projected in 2013, the second floor will be shelled in for future expansion.

Children's Mercy East will be located in the Trinity Woods Business Park at the southeast corner of I-70 and Little Blue Parkway in Independence (east of Blue Ridge Bank and Trust and the Corner Cafe).

Turner Construction has been awarded the ER Expansion project and will be working with Trio Masonry for the masonry work. The expansion of the Emergency Department adds 10 beds and a total of 5,000 square feet and the Surgical Services department  will add 11,000 square feet of operating room space.

Masonry work - 42,000 modular brick units as well as cast stone and 1,000 CMU at grade. Work is expected to start immediately with masonry starting in October and finishing in November 2011.
